I teach in the city centre and surrounding suburbs, either at your home or at an agreed venue, plus online if that suits you better. Lessons are weekly or fortnightly: £20 per 30 minutes or £35 for a full hour at Quad Studios in Leicester, with home lessons available for an additional charge and no contracts either way. The same goes for euphonium, baritone and tuba.

Lessons take place at your home or an agreed venue anywhere in the city and suburbs. For instruments, Leicestershire Music, the county music hub running since 1948, offers instrument hire alongside its county ensembles, and I will help you choose between hiring and buying before you spend anything.

Playing opportunities near Leicester

Leicester sits at the centre of an active brass band county. The Enderby Band, Ratby Co-op Band, Syston Band, Leicestershire Co-op Band and Oddfellows Brass are all within a short drive of the city, and the Leicestershire Brass Band Association runs a contest scene that keeps local banding healthy. Nearly every one of these bands has low brass seats that need filling, and getting students ready for them is a core part of how I teach. Adult learners also have university ensembles at De Montfort and the University of Leicester within reach.

About your teacher

I hold a Master's in Trombone Performance from UCLA and spent four years as Professor of Low Brass at the Nanhai Conservatory of Music. I have played bass trombone professionally with symphony orchestras, opera companies and jazz orchestras. The full record is on the about page.
